For the last 4 or 6 or 11 years I have been fascinated by mailboxes; their personality, their loneliness, camaraderie, function and the way they are decorated or not, giving me a tiny crack of space to dream around who those decorators may be, how they may live and what mail they may receive.

And the phrase ‘words want to be written’ swirls around in my head. So then I write them. The words, I mean.

This book is a compilation of some of those mailboxes and poems; poems written to no one. or maybe to everyone; a sort of confiding to a friend even if the friend were the mailbox.
